Full Moon in Leo – January 2013

FULL MOON IN LEO – Sunday 27th January, 3:38pm (AEST)

The first full moon of the year is Full Moon in Leo.

Your problem is how you are going to spend this one odd and precious life you have been issued. Whether you’re going to spend it trying to look good and creating the illusion that you have power over people and circumstances, or whether you are going to taste it, enjoy it and find out the truth about who you are.” ~ Anne Lamott

As far as service goes, it can take the form of a million things. To do service, you don’t have to be a doctor working in the slums for free, or become a social worker. Your position in life and what you do doesn’t matter as much, as how you do what you do.” ~ Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

The coming Full Moon in Leo is urging us to become more of who we are. It is the moon where we must balance our inner selves with our outer life so many of us are beginning to feel restless and ready for action.

A full moon illuminates the hidden feelings we have so if you are not doing what you love, or happy with what you are doing, then this moon is going to bring these feelings out into the open to be looked at.

Over the last year the moon cycles have been urging us to get clear on who we are, because it is only from this point that we can decide where we want to go in the future. This Leo full moon is giving us the confidence and clarity to really start living our lives the way we want to.

It can bring up the past to show us the journey we have been on, in order to understand ourselves better. There is no time for regrets or guilts under this moon. This is the time to see that everything has been happening perfectly in order for us to reach this place now.

A Leo full moon shows us both sides of the coin. It can highlight all the things that are not quite working in our lives and it can show us what is. The key is not to reject the things that are not working but see what tweaks need to be made in order to get back on the right path.

We can become more inspired and passionate over this moon, especially if we find a job, creative endeavor or have a vision of what we want to be doing. Use the impetuous Leo energy to take back control of our life and follow your inner desires.

Don’t try and suppress your emotions over this moon, but allow yourself to feel everything that is coming up without falling into the victim mentality. If you are feeling a buildup of energy go out and dance this full moon! Things can only get better and this moon is a good time to get together with friends and just be happy to be alive.

The Leo moon helps us to take personal responsibility for everything that we have chosen in our lives and reminds us that we have created everything with our choices. When we celebrate the now, recognising that it is all perfect, we become more powerful and happier.

If you are unhappy with an aspect of your life, connect with the moon and ask how you can change it. We are not helpless or powerless, we just need to accept the situation and see where the solution lies.

The Leo moon warns us to see beyond the illusion. Be careful not to exaggerate your situation whether it is positive or negative. Nothing is ever as it seems. Keep your feet on the ground and your eyes open to all the possibilities that are around you without falling into the worry, anxiety or allow your negative critic to stop you from following your heart.

We are being asked by this moon to become full participants in this game of life and let go of the fear that is holding us back from being who we truly are or doing what we love.

The more we can take back control in our lives and start doing what we love the easier it will be to surf the coming waves of energy that are flooding our planet. The old male, fiery and aggressive methods of reacting to external situations will no longer work, as what we put out into the world is coming back to us instantly.

We must now become personally responsible for what is happening both personally and on a collective level and look within for the answers. We have to be the change we want to see in the world and the moon will help us on our journey by constantly reminding us to walk the path that will make us most happy and content.

I will end this with the wise words of Rabindranath Tagore:

I have become my own version of an optimist. If I can’t make it through one door, I’ll go through another door – or I’ll make a door. Something terrific will come no matter how dark the present.

With Gratitude, Blessings and Love to you and to my moon sista Rebekah Shaman for this post.
