New Moon in Taurus – May 2013

NEW MOON IN TAURUS – Friday 10th May, 10:28am (AEST)

Already this year is flying by and it will seem as if time is getting faster, but it is creation that is speeding up. With the constant twenty-four hour communication available to us now we can create things at a fraction of the time that we could in the past.

This has both negative and positive consequences, as we find ourselves in an almost technological lock down with its unrelenting pressure. However, we are now able to create anything we desire if we have the motivation and discipline to make it happen.

The New Moon in Taurus on Friday is fuelling our projects and creative endeavours forward with its grounded, practical, disciplinary energy. Many of us may already be feeling the inspirational energy of Taurus galvanising us into action.

Over the past months we have been getting to know ourselves more while sowing our seeds of desire. This new moon signifies the start of the new season and a new time.

Now, under the New Moon in Taurus, we start seeing the signs of progress and a piecing together of all the threads that make up who we are. It brings structure to our intentions, strengthens our foundations and manifests our action, helping us shape our ideas into more tangible, physical forms.

It reminds us that we are surrounded by abundance. Mother earth is here to support us to realise our dreams, just as she supports the natural world around us. Resources seem to be more available to us, and the clearer we are of what we want the easier it will be to create it in our lives. This is the time to let the magic of life flow you to the right people and connections that can help you manifest your visions.

Taurus brings a sense of patience and order, and shows us that everything is happening and coming together in perfect timing. Synchronicities abound during this moon and we can find ourselves and our projects revitalised, motivating us to keep going, especially if the last few months have been a hard slog.

Ruled by Venus, this moon heightens our senses so we can enjoy the physical and sensual beauty that surrounds us, feeling the pleasure and passion of being alive more deeply. This is a good time to spend with friends, enjoying the company of others and the connections and inspirations that only comes from sharing yourself and your ideas with the world, (so say yes to the invitations you are hesitating about).

However, someone may just keep pushing your buttons. Rather than keep your feelings bottled up, find a good time to express yourself to them, as it may lead to a showdown that could create tension and negative energy. Also, rather than stewing in frustration, take some time out in nature, ideally thirty minutes a day, enjoying the sun on your skin now, before winter sets in.

Under this moon there is often neediness for more material belongings, a feeling of lack, and an urge to increase our financial situation. Sometimes this moon can cause a sense of dissatisfaction for what we already have. To add to the pressure we also have our next eclipse of the month – an annular solar eclipse – that is increasing the already intense energy we are feeling. Solar eclipses block out the light so that we can see the darkness and illuminate whatever is deep within you that needs to be faced.

Because it is in Scorpio/Taurus, it may illuminate issues around material and financial security, relationships and health. This could be a thought that has been worrying you, an intolerable relationship, a habit or addiction that has got out of hand, health issues, or a fear that must now be faced.

The best way to surf this wave is to accept the moment as it is, and not as you would like it to be, and accept yourself just as you are. If you don’t like something in your life, don’t become a victim, use the Taurus energy to get proactive and get rid of it; people, clutter, stuff, old technology, old clothes, anything that is keeping you stuck in the past.

The key for this New Moon in Taurus is to get back in the driving seat and steer yourself towards your desired goal. We have to make the effort to change our perspective if we want to see change in our lives. Rather than see the cup half empty, recognise all the blessings and riches that are in your life already, feel that abundance, and then get out of your own way to allow and more easily receive the gifts and miracles that life is always offering us.

I will end this with the wise words of Mark Twain

”Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sail. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

”By respect for life we become religious in a way that is elementary, profound and alive. Impart as much as you can of your spiritual being to those who are on the road with you, and accept as something precious what comes back to you from them. In everyone’s life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.” ~ Albert Schweitzer

”Nothing of importance is ever achieved without discipline. I feel myself sometimes not wholly in sympathy with some modern educational theorists, because I think that they underestimate the part that discipline plays. But the discipline you have in your life should be one determined by your own desires and your own needs, not put upon you by society or authority.” ~ Bertrand Russell
