New Moon in Aries, March 2014

NEW MOON IN ARIES –
Monday 31st March 2014, 5:44am (AEDT)

Spring/Autumn is here (depending on where you are on the planet), represented by the new moon in Aries that signifies a new Zodiac cycle. In the Southern hemisphere the nights are now getting longer than the days and nature is starting to go into retreat.

Over the last two weeks, as the Virgo full moon waned, you might have felt some deep feelings coming up towards others, and situations from your past that may have upset you. These feelings have surfaced so that they can be faced and resolved.

Under this new moon in Aries we can find the forgiveness and compassion towards those that have hurt us or caused us pain. Aries is the first and youngest of the signs and brings with it the energy of an inquisitive, innocent child who sees everything as an adventure, with no awareness of failure, pain, disappointment, and broken dreams.

Blame, anger, hatred and regret keep us locked in the past and stop us from moving forward. This is the moon to shine brighter by taking personal responsibility for the choices you have made in your life and let go of the past that no longer serves you.

The new moon in Aries, influenced by Mars, its ruling planet, prompts us to draw on our determination, initiative and leadership so that we can ‘ram’ through all our fear and negativity in order to keep on moving forward. Fortunately, over the last few weeks many of us have got clearer on where we are heading. For those who have set their destination, Aries gives us courage and our first head wind so can we can begin to sail.

We all need to be more like the fool, the 0 card of the tarot pack, who is willing to start the adventure, trusting that nature will provide everything we need. Many opportunities and unexpected surprises can happen now so be open to letting anything occur. The more we can let go of the fear and find the faith and trust, the easier it will be to see all the doors that are opening up for you now.

The key, during this new moon in Aries is to understand the difference between being egotistical and being self-centred. When we are coming from our ego we can become overly dominating, controlling, flare up and find ourselves ‘butting in’ inappropriately. We can also get over competitive, jealous and demand too much from those around us.

When we are being self-centred we acknowledge our limitations and weaknesses, find time for ourselves by saying no when we need too, (enabling us to have spare capacity to help others), and are able to show genuine leadership, act independently, and support/assist others who do not have the courage to stand up for themselves. Our honesty, passion for life, decisiveness and being unafraid to try new things can inspire others.

Therefore, let the vitality and enthusiasm of this new moon in Aries shine through any doubt that may be casting a shadow on your passion. When we let go of worrying about what is going to happen next and focus our attention on where we are headed, magic happens.

We can experience mind-blowing synchronicities, signs start appearing everywhere and most importantly, people come into your life, and you into theirs, to help and support each other. So leap into it all with courage, determination and perseverance.

I will end this Moonscope with the wise words of Mark Victor Hansen:

“Don’t wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now. With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful. You control your future, your destiny. What you think about comes about. By recording your dreams and goals on paper, you set in motion the process of becoming the person you most want to be. Put your future in good hands – your own.”

New Moon Ritual

Aries can heighten feelings of stress and anxiety so we cannot think clearly. If this is happening take some time out in nature and hug a tree. If you need some guidance or are too much in your head, take your shoes and socks off and feel the grass beneath your bare feet.

Practice this simple Kundalini Yoga Breath Meditation for Stress Relief and Clearing Emotions from the Past.

Then take some deep breaths, feeling your whole body relaxing with each breath, as you feel bathed by the sun and wind. Once you are feeling calm and relaxed release all the negative energy you have been feeling (seeing it as black sludge), flowing out of the soles of your feet back into the earth, seeing it being burnt up by the molton lava at the centre of the Planet. When you have let all the negative energy out, you are can now draw up the electro-magnetic energy from Mother Earth through the soles of your feet, feeling it revitalising and energising you.

Bring your attention to your heart and ask god/universe/nature/etc for an answer/solution to any challenge or problem that is worrying you. It may take some time for the answer to come, but be assured there is always an answer!

The universe, of which we are a part, is infinitely magical and often the solutions cannot be worked out from our limited, rational, left-brained perspective. It is in the moments of deep meditation, relaxation and connection with nature that we can see what we have been looking for.

Over this new moon in Aries, you may also feel particularly impatient and nervous. Burn off some of that excess energy by practicing more dynamic kundalini yoga, dancing, swimming, running, or anything else that will get your cardio-vascular energy moving. This will also take you out of your head and into the zone, helping you to switch off the revolving mind and listen to what is in your heart.
